Inspired by the energy & nostalgia of 90's tennis, my intention was to design a capsule that spoke through it's materials and pattern construction. By incorporating physical references from the sport of tennis, I translated these design elements as both stylistic and functional design choices.

Spring 2026 Capsule
This is a capsule I designed for tennis brand, Outside Lines. Inspired by early 2000's tennis, I wanted to incorporate futuristic, motion-driven graphics, with heritage inspired plaids to build a story that marries nostalgia with the evolution of tennis culture.

The client and I were originally inspired by Federer's Aussie Open Fit in 2003. Arguably 2003-2008 were the most influential period for tennis fashion, transitioning from preppy, clean cut polos expected of tennis culture, to more modern, bold patterns and silhouettes that pushed tennis into the modern era.

In designing this capsule, I was particularly inspired by the pattern of poisonous dart frogs. There's a beauty and ferociousness that aligns well with the performance of a competitive tennis player. There's a quickness & agility needed to dominate your opponent, while retaining an elegance and fluidity in your form.
It's that dance that creates an exciting tennis set.
